prolly the best book i have read on feng shui is called "taking the incense and snake oil out of feng shui". it was pretty good. described the common sense aspects of the concept. like fire can't be directly across from water. if you think about that in the kitchen, it makes sense. a stove in front of a sink (like the sink is part of an island) is a bad idea. what if someone wants to wash vegetables or utensils while someone else is cooking at the stove? could be a problem. things like placing crystals to ward of evil demons is a little silly, but to each his own.
