kind of.
i always have a hard time meeting people because i am so reserved (these smilies are really slowly my cursor, arrrrrgh!).
anyway, so i met a couple of girls in one of my classes last week. today they asked me if i remembered someone from a class we had last semester, which i did. "Oh, she is SUCH A pregnant dog. Seriously. If she was in our class this semester we were planning on dropping it."
I don't know why that annoyed me so much. I guess because I am not interested in sitting around pregnant doging about people I don't know with people I barely know.
I hate that I finally stepped out of my shell, only to remember why I was in it in the first place. :type:

i used to hate people. then i started feeling "pity" for most of them. now, i feel pity for those that feel pity for them.
i don't let the hum drum of the mob get to me. how does nietzsche say it "if we let small things bother us, then we too are small". patience is the hardest thing i have ever tried to come to terms with. as i get older, i gain more patience. i do now care about how people piss their lives away, but i realize that there's nothing i can do about it. it just seems that most are dead. as in they have no spirit. they may be alive, but their spirit died ages ago. now they are just wasting time and resources waiting for their bodies to die.

I've always found it difficult to relate to people, but as I get older, as I gain more knowledge of how the world works, I seem to have more and more questions. But almost everyone I meet on a daily basis seems to be content wallowing in the banal ho-hum of day-to-day grind. They talk about the weather, the football, Eastenders on TV, the price of beer, isn't work crap...yadda yadda yadda. So, when I'm down the pub and ask "aren't you the least bit worried about the increasing dogmatic violence in the world?", they just look at me, go "yeah, I suppose" and continue talking about last night's game. There's no discussion, no acknowledgement of deeper thought just a frantic swim back to the shallow end of their consciousness. Do they honestly not think about this stuff, don't they care, should I waste energy caring that they don't? They pregnant dog about people behind others backs showing a lack of character and a general inferiority complex. If that's how they want to be then just nod politely and jettison their negativity back into the ether, Forgetabout em.

the thing I hate about people is when they don't come right out and say what's on their mind. Trying to be a mind reader pisses me off big time.

It's easier to reconcile our big fat lifestyles if we don't have to know about the millions of people being killed in the Congo ... and the genocide of various indigenous peoples... we're a bunch of miserable thingys

i don't mind small talk (sometimes)... and I don't mind if people talk about their interests (football, fashion, whatever it may be).
i just don't get the nuts-talking. some girls are just so... pregnant dogy. i don't get that. seems like it would suck to be that way - to be negative and nuts-talking all the time. i'd get even more depressed than i already am!
