i think it's cool. i've been to a million tori concerts, but never had the opportunity to just hear her speak before.
i'm 100% psyched to have tickets to the NY show!

It's a two way thing. When she does a talky thing, you want people to shut up (and they don't). But from the concerts I've been to everyone just sits, listens and claps politely and you really want them just to let go and get into it. The last show I went to I was sat near a girl who was so into it and was bouncing around, singing, halfway through she rushed down to the front to be nearer. I could've hugged her as she was improving my mood just through her enjoyment, but everyone around her was tutting and looking at her disapprovingly.

nothing will ever beat seeing Depeche Mode, the Jesus and Mary Chain, AND Nitzer Ebb in one show.......
....howere, seeing Ministry, NIN, Soundgarden and Metallic at one show was rather nifty too

Well first off, we got there late and missed the first 20 mins, grr (snow and accidents on the Jersey turnpike). What was cool was we sat right next to Tori's parents, hehe. I whispered "I love your daughter!" to them & they smiled. Probably just to be polite, hahaha. The stuff she said was interesting & everything, but it would have been fine if I saw it on tv or something. Not something you had to be there for, ya know? Plus--no offense to anyone who was actually there and was one of these people--but it seemed like anytime she said something that was only a tiny bit amusing, the audience would burst into laughter. They laughed at EVERYTHING. It was so annoying! I'm like It's not THAT funny, d**n. It was only 2 hours long, and I think it should have been longer for the price and everything, and of course if she had performed it would have been better. And her skirt was ugly, haha. There was a ROPE around it as a belt. And that's basically it.

(Like I am right now? :giggle:)

The lady who wrote Piece by Piece w/Tori, Ann Powers, was there, and they talked about putting the book together, and about how living in Cornwall influenced the new album, things like that. I did like it when she talked about Tash, how she would react to Tori having to go do interviews & shows and things. Tori would say she had to go be on 'telly' today and Tash would say "i don't like "tori amos" taking my mummy away" and tori would respond "well "Tori Amos" pays for your dollies!" So that was cute. The second part of the show they took questions from the audience, but it was something tha was done beforehand. Ann Powers would read them off a note card. There were really only 3 or 4 of these questions and most of them time Tori kinda got on a tangent and didn't really answer the questions...but that's not surprising. Overally I just thought it was too quick and nothing really special.
