Since we're pregnant doging about the US, let me tell you a story of what happened when I was in Winnipeg.
On my way back into the states, I was totally discriminated against because of my f**king age. We had to get the entire car checked, all of our belongings. But they were letting everyone else go past. Why? Because they most likely thought we were smuggling alcohol in. First of all, I'm over 21, I have no reason to smuggle alcohol into the US. Also, everyone else who was getting their belongings checked was around the same age, mostly younger.
Anyway, I'm glad they are so concerned with some youngsters bringing in a bottle of booze or a pack of cigarettes, yet we can't discriminate based on other factors because that might hurt someone's feelings. (Not that I'm FOR discrimination, they're just so f**king PC about how they go about these sorts of things.)

it used to be so frigging easy to cross the border.. until 9/11...that changed everything.
heaven forbid somebody would smuggle in some cigarrettes or some citrus f**king fruit. never mind the d**n assault rifles and every other f**king criminal element that they DO let through.

The reverse happened to me...on the way to Canada, the lady was really pregnant dogy and stuff to us, but on the way back to the US the guy was cool. Depends on the person I guess. But of course I agree, smuggling alcohol, god forbid....

The way I've been treated at the border the last couple times, I don't even want to bother going to Canada because of the guards. It's a f**king joke. The last time before Winnipeg when I was in the Sault, it was assumed that we had weed because Alan couldn't an ashtray in his car for the guard to check. It turns out he doesn't have one, but he didn't know that and she was all pregnant dogy about it, putting her whole bod in the car and telling Alan if he didn't keep his hands to himself there would be serious trouble.

there won't be a rovolution in the US now because we don't need it. what we do need is re-reversal of our liberties. see, it's the bill of rights under attack, not the constitution. they are taking away positive law (things we have the right to do) and putting in place more negative law (things we are not allowed to do). they can add to the constitution all they want, that can be amended. but taking things away from the bill or rights is going to start some nuts. they need to quick f**king with it. add whatever they wanna add to the constitution (cause we can take it out later), but keep your d**n hands off the bill of rights. they take things from there, and there will be a bloody war. i just found this out. at one point, it became ILLEGAL to say anything against the president or against his actions due to fear of a war with france. it was written law. of course it was amended. we have quite a checker past here in the US, but all that is going on now is not as bad as some things that have occurred in the past here. little poster i was asked to design for the aclu (iclu is the indiana civil liberties union branch of aclu) about the loss of our liberties. i am not a member of the aclu nor do i think i ever would be. i don't like all their law suit nuts. pisses me off sometime.

I've never really understood the rationale for them asking about smuggling fruit or veg into the country. I'd find it unbearably difficult to answer without being sarcastic: Officer: "are you bringing any fruit or vegetables into the country" Me: "Why yes, I'm planning to assasinate your president with this razor sharp slice of mango here." Officer draws gun: "Get out of the car NOW muthaf**ker, up against the wall"

It can bring bugs that aren't native to that country and can harm crops and/or spread disease. I know I always thought it was weird too!
