- A message from the tyrant regime of The Pool -
It was I who suggested that Amanda should make Amy Lyn a mod when she was the only mod/admin of the pool. Both Amanda and I agreed on that she was a good choice because she has a good heart, she covers the American time zone and she is online a lot. Amanda who didn’t have enough time or the interest to spend a lot of her time with the forum then gave Amy the admin password. If you are supposed to be the boss of a place, you can’t have others ex-bosses using a key to get access to your office to change decisions you have made. That doesn’t work anywhere no matter if is a company, an institution or an Internet forum. Amanda and Amy agreed on that Amy should be the only one with the password. So get the idea of that Amy stole it out of your heads.
Everything Amy has done is based on what she thinks is right. You may think of her as a bossy person, a tyrant, a nazi, someone who gets kicks of using power to prove a point. But nothing could be more wrong. She is a dear friend of many of you; I can’t understand how your opinions of how she rules an Internet forum can make you start to doubt her.
Yes, I’m probably the mod at the pool you should blame for locking and deleteting most threads, not counting the obvious adjustments such as the pure trolling with nasty pictures and such. Speaking of that trolling incident. No one blamed Dru, Jerry, Jerome or whatever he chose to call himself for that. I may disagree with him about most things but I don’t believe he would do such a thing. Though he is quite capable of many other things, which are the real reason that he was banned. As for my locking and deleting of threads, all I can say that I’m used to a forum environment with surten forum ethics. Ethics is something that seems to be lacking these days. No one can seriously expect to call people nazi, sleeper etc and think they can get away of it, despite any illusion of freedom of speech people might have.
That’s correct freedom of speech does not apply on forums. Forums are not a democracy that is something I fully agree with Dru/Jerry/Jerome. The power should be given to people who are best fit to rule. The person who decides that is the admin. I can’t say that I’m a better mod than anyone else would be, if I thought of myself as a god I would indeed not be fit to be a moderator. Amy choose we who now are moderators not because we are the best ass kissers or because of we are sleepers (Dru/Jerry/Jerome) once entitled us “Amy and all her minions are sleepers”), she chose us because we were 1) online a lot 2) covered many time zones, some of the Europeans are insomniacs, as myself, so we are keeping an eye on the US time zone as well. 3) we don’t have a history of bashing people and we share one common goal to make the pool a pleasant place. Some of you may not like the idea of what we think how a forum should be run, but since you have at least three other forums where you can post I don’t see why there has to be such a vendetta against Amy and her “regime”.
None of the major actions we make are based on gut feelings, or only one person’s idea of what is right or wrong. We, the moderators, discuss matters among our selves and with other poolies before we decide what to do.
The sense of a community is not a forum, not a web address, but the feeling of a common cause, a feeling that goes with the community, and the people who make the community wherever they go. Some of you feel most at home here, the hole, the pool or the new pool, or somewhere else. I thought the common cause for the all of us was our love for Tori and her music, but someway along the road that common cause has been lost. Now it more seem as people are more entertained by petty drama, backstabbing and a perverse interest to hurt other peoples feelings under the so called freedom of speech. Since this seems to be the preferred form of entertainment among many I ask you all, people here, people from the hole and people from both the pools, because I know that all of you read what is written here. Are you entertained? I can tell you that I’m not entertained.

Or *shock* here's an idea...everybody at all the boards could just chill and be totaly cool to eachother and everyone could be happy! No, what am I thinking, that could never happen.
What Ben said here in a post the other day was the most brilliant thing I’ve read for a long time. I wish all of us could see past our petty arguments and live up to that.
As hard as it might be to think, most of us are adults. Now let all ( me included) of us start, some more than others, to act as adults.
Best regards,
Roger
