I'm sat watching the Jools Holland's Hootennany on TV, and they've got the 'Ukulele Orcestra of Great Britain' performing 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'
Holy nuts, I'm either pissed beyond belief or have just dropped into the Twighlight Zone.

But the important thing is I didn't imagine it (this time)  you probably never heard of Larry Gowan... he's a singer/piano player was a solo artist and now has joined up with Styx to replace Denis DeYoung... anyway, I saw him a few years back and he performed with a symphony orchestra..probably a hundred piece orchestra... they performed I Am the Walrus as one of their songs... it was great fun watching those normally rather staid looking musicians cranking out GOO GOO GA JOO on their violins etc...... it was a phenomenal concert.... |

I love it when someone does something totally unexpected like that. Like the Lollapalooza skit they did on the Simpsons where the 'London Philharmonic' performed 'Insane in the Membrane'... even though it was a joke it sounded pretty fantastic.
