i downloaded this, and STILL bought it because it is so good (and i never buy albums anymore - haven't bought one in over a year i would say). tom wait's new album "real gone" is G R E A T! it is not "mule variations" or "alice", but VERY GOOD. at least download the song "make it rain" or "hoist that rag".

my best friend is a huge fan too..... says I NEED this album. well, as far as tom waits goes, if any of his records are "needed" they are "bone machine/alice/mule variations/blood money/closing time/swordfishtrombone". if you call yourself a music enthusiast, i feel these albums are requirements for a connoisseur of "high quality" art. if it is true that all good philosophers need a poet to reference for their philosophy, then tom is mine. the line "the earth died screaming, while we been dreaming" is (in)sane. |
