i need more furniture stores

i can't find a kitchen table i like. well i found one at DWR.com but, with 4 chairs, it's $1700. No f**king way. Help! I've tried West Elm, Pottery Barn, Ikea, Crate & Barrel, Ethan Allen, Williams Sonoma, Hold Everything. And I've checked out the local stores - they all have the same nuts.

what about an antique store

or a used one
check the classifieds ,they usually have tons of that stuff around here

The kitchen table my parents have, it is more than 100 years old. It belonged to my grandmother's parents. It is a beautiful table too

all of my furniture was given to me, but there is something to be said for nice table cloths. get something cheap and cover it up if you don't find something you like right away. also, antique stores, good will, thrift stores... you are bound to find something nifty!

what kind of table are you looking for? I know that when I was looking for mine, I went EVERYWHERE... Then I finally bought my table for just over $1500, three months later, Crate & Barrel got one that looked just like it for $500 less!!!!

Do you have Ashley Furniture near you? they tend to have a lot of stuff I like.

I get so pissed off that the stuff I really want costs the earth, especially furniture. What I've started doing is scouring the cheapo stores (Ikea etc), finding the closest match and then employing liberal use of hammer, glue and MDF board to get what I want. I'm not a professional or anything, but since the stuff I buy tends to be dirt cheap, if I make a mistake it doesn't matter too much. Plus I can get creative and add my own idiosyncratic touches here and there

Have you noticed how 'modern' furniture looks almost the same as the stuff was around in the 60s? I'm sure I've been on a training course recently that had that table in the break room.
