Heh, when I started working on a computer helpdesk I knew this guy who didn't quite understand how to fix PC's (I didn't either but at least I'd try to find out what was wrong). Anyway, we had started a pool on how may times a day he'd recommend a system restore on a user's computer (this was when most manufacturers supplied an automated restore disk, so you'd just boot off this thing, walk away and it'd format and do everything for you). I think the highest amount he got up to was seven. You wouldn't believe the amount of fallout we got due to the fact that he erased someone's files... Sounds like you've got one of those guys. It's probably ony a printer driver that needs kicking.

that guy's name wasn't frank was it ? i got pissed and did not one thing all day long. can't they hire decent help desk? the other day I called because I got one of those messages asking to install a program and I didn't want to click on anything (they had the options yes or no) but since it was obviously something spyware or virus related, instead of clicking on "no" i decided to call it.... yeah... would you know the first thing the girl does is click no and ask what else i wanted.... and that after I spent a good 2 minutes explaining how I DIDN'T WANT TO CLICK ON ANYTHING ON THAT WINDOW and I how I couldn't find it on that ctr+alt+del thing that lets you quit running applications :hair: and that is what I wanted her to do - find a way to quit it without clicking on it - that is not too hard to understand is it? that wasn't the worst part tho.... then she saw i was using yahoo im and said it was yahoo im that had brought that window for me :wall: and i calmly said... no it was not and then she said i have to remove that program.... :eep: and what do you know... i watched her reinstall the same program 3 times in a row :wall: :hair: while telling her she was not uninstalling and she kept insisting that she was but i learnt one thing that day - instead of trying to tell them that they are not doing what they think they are doing, I'll simply quit the remote control and said "thanks, but you can't help me" :hippy:
