the beekeeper fever that everyone else has. Why dont I like it as much as anyone else? Why do I think its only one step above strange little girls? Is it because Im not willing to grasp at whatever she tosses my way so as not to lose her completely? Why did I like it before when her lyrics were mysterious and interresting, and I dont like it now that they are bland and easy to grasp? I really do envy the excitement others have when talking about this album. Im jealous of the feelings they have when they listen to it. I just wish I wasnt so disappointed.

I feel it too. Ever since I got the album, everyone else seems to go crazy over it. And I've been listening to the album over and over and over again and can't, for the like of me, figure out what's so great about it. So many songs sound so boring, or just terrible. Not a single song is stuck in my head. The only song I really like is The power of orange knickers, all the other songs do nothing to me. It's even worse than SW imo, I appreciate that album a whole lot now all of a sudden.
Maybe I'm stuck at a place that Tori passed a long time ago, but I miss the piano sounds, her voice. It's all cheesy and a lot softer and i just don't like it. I don't like her voice anymore and I don't like the way they've added music to the songs. But alas, almost the entire Toriphile world thinks it's her best album...and I just can't share that feeling. I really, really dislike the album

To hear people say this is her best album yet makes me want to throw myself off a cliff. or go buy some celine dion. thats what this is leading to, isnt it? mainstream mindless blither. the funny thing is, it isnt even good to my mainstream friends. theyre mostly like "wtf is this?" as opposed to "tori again?". its like they dont recognize her either. it just makes me so very very sad.

so far i've only come across a handful of people who share my thoughts. Everyone else really seems to think this album is just brilliant. I even wondered if they were talking about the same album and that perhaps I had a wrong copy.
mainstream and boring and not Tori at all (or at least not old school Tori). If this is what she's really turning into, then I'm not sure i'll be buying her next album (if there will be one)

oh yeah, i feel the same way. i am really disappointed in this album. so disappointed that i don't want tori to make anymore albums, for fear that they are going to be as nutsty as this one. It's an embarassment. i don't know why i even bought the cd, honestly.

Same here. It's completely sad. I feel like I lost something really important to me. And I realize Tori is at a different place in her life, blah blah, but she still SUCKS. Her music, SUCKS. Compared to what Tori was...........she is as boring as Celine Dion. And Bernie, you hit the nail right on the head.

heres an interesting perspective, maybe lol...I love the new album, HOWEVER I totally understand where you folks are comin from, I felt that way about SW THAT was a boring f**king album, But alas the beekeeper is NOT her best album in my opinion but to me its also not the worst, thank god, coz if this one hit me like its hitting you and like SW hit me I'd be crushed and sad...so I'm sorry for all who are disappointed :hugs:

It's an embarassment. i don't know why i even bought the cd, honestly. I feared this album long before it was out there. I was scared it would be like SW, an album i don't hate, but don't like either. I was scared it would contain all those cheesy sounds again. But everyone kept on telling me: no, no...a hammod doesn't sound like anything SW related, it's more like a real organ ala BFP (was there an organ on there btw?). And no......her songs are going to be stunning. Trust me! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight... Right now SW has gained a lot more respect from me. And again: I wish I could feel what a lot of people feel, but i just can't. It's like Sugarmum said: the album just disappears into the background. It's on and I either forget it's on, or get annoyed by it.
