Please help

First of all, Hewo to everybody who's here that I used to talk to back at the Pool. *hugs*

Ok, now, I was recently invited back to the Pool. I figured enough time had passed, and so I said yes. I went back, and what I have found has greatly disturbed me.

I'm not taking any sides, and I'm not saying who is right and who is wrong. I'm taking the stance that all the people involved on all "sides" of the conflict-or whatever people want to call it-have not done as well as they could have in treating eachother with the love and mutual respect I so fondly recall from my days at the Pool long ago.

I miss those days. I know longing for the past does little good, but it's not the past I want back; it's a better present than has been created by all those involved.

So, even though I don't have the blessing of *pf* or anyone (that I know of) at the Pool, I am here to satisfy my own conscience by pleading with anyone here who is willing to do so, to help me return some sanity back to the family we once all belonged to, on ALL the boards that are involved. It might not do any good, but I have to do this for my own conscience's sake, because now it's threatening the very existence of the Pool...both literaly, and just as what I remember it as being. People are talking about deleting the Pool because of all this!

Put aside everything that's happened and ask yourself if you want that to happen. If you don't, then please help me.

I'm trying to start a movement whereby EVERYONE involved apologizes to eachother for anything they may have done (without saying whether they did or not, or even what it was) that may have hurt anyone on either side, and where all sides promise in good faith not to act similarly to one another.

I'm not trying to get the Pool back together, or to reunify the communities that have split apart. I just want to restore a little bit of good will between the now separate communities which have emerged, so that all can live in peace with a modicum of respect and compassion again, irrespective of past wrongs on all sides.

I never stopped loving EVERYONE I used to talk to at the Pool, and that includes everyone here I once knew as well. I remember you all as being caring, warm human beings who were a joy to communicate with. I know I'm a naive person...but not that naive. Please atleast consider what I've had to say.

And if you want to help, one way would be to give me the url of the donut hole, so I can post this there as well. Thank-you.

Well Benny, In the long run you're likely right, and as much as I'd help you, perhaps it was like the first day of school back then, and everyone in the homeroom class were forced to all get along for a while, but when school get's closer to being done there are always groups who split and grow closer....this seems to be the way of humanity really, so perhaps it is too grand a goal....though it is a beautiful thought old friend.

I think along the way, since Lotte left the Pool and chose a person to take over, there were great people doing it for a while, but now it's kinda being run by people who aren't the greatest "moderators"....and so there is tension.

That's neither here nor there really......but anyway, while I find the idea to be heartfelt and good....it may not be feasible.......in a perfect world I guess.

I agree with you about how it's kind of human nature to split into compatable groups. I don't want everyone to reuinify. I just want everyone to apologize to eachother, then go their separate ways in a spirit of peace instead of animosity, that's all. Because as it is now, there's a new drama in this sad play every day I log into the Pool, and I don't want it to be that way y'know? I want the people at each board to swallow their pride, and say "For whatever I did, I'm sorry guys." And then for each group to just go their separate ways, instead of continuing to antagonize eachother.

That's all.

Because ALL sides have done wrong in my opinion. Nobody's got the moral monopoly on fairness or good conduct at this point as far as I'm concerned y'know?

I agree with what you are saying, and ideally it is a good suggestion. I just dont know that is feasible. But welcome to this board none the less. :hiya:












and from what I heard... it was only paper nazi who wanted to delete her board the Pool... but I can't go there anymore.. so thats just rumor

I really feel that i have nothing to aplogize for.

If I hurt anyone's feelings by being a part of another board, then I'm sorry for that. (even if those hurt feelings were based on assumption and not on actual fact.)

I think what Lunchy said (hewo lounchy btw!) sums up what I'm going for here.

That's what I'm looking for. Even if people don't feel they did anything wrong, and without pointing any fingers or playing the blame game, I'm hoping everyone involved on both/all sides will be able to say IF, hypotheticaly, they did anything that caused any hurt or damage to be incurred, for whatever reason, even if they don't agree with the reasons, that they're sorry.

That applies to people at the Pool too. And yes, pf is the only one who mentioned deleting the Pool, but REGARDLESS of who's saying it, it scares the hell out of me. That place meant, and still means, alot to me, and I want it to go on existing.

I'm not asking for anyone to kiss ass, or admit guilt, etc. All I'm asking is for people on all sides to find it within themselves to say, "Hey, I may not agree that I did anything wrong, but if you feel I did, then I'm sorry." And then for all sides to stop saying things that antagonize one another. Stopping with the Nazi comment might help for one thing, as even though I too disagree with pf's actions to a large extent, I think there's no need for name calling no matter what someone does...but that's just me and my naive overly loving self talking lol.

Please atleast consider this before you shoot it down ok? That's all I'm asking.

And whatever happens, I hope I can atleast be viewed by both sides as neutral. I wasn't even there when all this went down, and I don't want to lose the friendship (old or new) of anyone involved on either "side."
